ABOUT US Hi to all. It was only a few years ago that I came across the American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT), a breed I came to love for its 'never quit' attitude. Being a fairly determined individual myself, I really connected with the spirit of this magnificent breed. In fact, I was so impressed with what I learned about the APBT, that I became passionate about honouring this dog in some way. I decided that one of the ways I could do this was to create a sports clothing and equipment brand that would celebrate the same spirit that the APBT has in such abundance. A bold plan indeed! In a way, I also hope to encourage people to see the APBT in a more positive light than the one it has experienced in the past. Let me tell you, this dog is a 'doer', a 'never say die', a 'never quit warrior', and therefore perhaps the greatest optimist around. Isn't that something we all appreciate when we see it? I know I do. In the APBT or in people, these qualities never fail to impress me. Anyways, on with the story. As I researched the sporting market for my new venture I came across boxing. Now here is what you call a sport and then some. Drama of the highest order. I was a fan of the sport as a kid but lost contact with it growing up. This time it really captured my interest and imagination, partly because of the dramatic nature of the sport, and also because in many of it's warriors I see the same spirit that I see in the APBT: that strength of mind to go after what you want and not give up no matter how hard the struggle. And boxing, as we all know, can be one hell of a struggle, with the winner often being the one who's prepared to give it that little bit more than the other guy. It's an awesome sport and one that's given me some of the best weekends of my life. So here's to the APBT and here's to boxing and its proud warriors, may your spirit never die! Cheers, Gamebull. |
